LIMES, WALNUTS AND GRAPES
I’ve got great news to share. I had a visit with the oncologist yesterday and all indications are that I’m kicking butt and so is the chemo! They measured the primary breast tumor and it has shrunk an entire centimeter already! While a centimeter doesn’t sound like much, in this case it represents about a 20% reduction in size after the first 2 rounds of chemo.
For my visual processors: my tumor has gone from approximately the size of a lime, to the size of a walnut. Next goal…a grape.
This means the chemo is aggressively targeting the cancer and all the side effects are worth it. This also means I likely won’t need additional chemo after my surgery in spring. Instead I would go right on to radiation after surgery, shaving 8-16 weeks off my initial treatment plan. Awesome news indeed.
Let’s keep it short and sweet and bask together in the glow of this great news for now. More to come soon.
